Gems of Hope is pleased to announce the Cedar Rapids, Marion, Coralville and Iowa City Hy-Vee Food Stores will support Gems throughout the month of October with Pink Princettia flower sales.
This newer hybrid plant developed by Suntory is known for lovely pink hues. Just as the flower’s name indicates, the plant is designed to make its recipient feel special, like a princess. The plant can be grown indoors or out, and has a long bloom life.
The Cedar Rapids, Marion, Coralville and Iowa City Hy-Vee Food Stores will have the plants available in stores in the month of October. A portion of the proceeds from each plant sold will be donated to Gems of Hope. And Plant Peddler the distributor of the product is also generously helping by donating to the cause too.
“We could not think of a better organization to highlight with this effort. Gems and the Princettia have something in common, they are both unique. The way Gems serves cancer patients and their families through the programs, gifts and other things they do, well, it’s just meaningful and different. Just like the Princettia plant, ” remarked Beth Hennessy, Manager of the Oakland Road Hy-Vee Floral Department.
The plants arrival also comes in time to bring plenty of attention to the month of October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
