All programs are guided by our mission to bring hope to cancer patients and their families.

Our key programs include:

Workshops- Community volunteers gather to create handmade inspirational cards and keepsake tokens which are delivered to local cancer patients while they are receiving treatment.

What About Us? - Half-day kids camp offered three times a year for children ages 5-12 with a loved one's cancer diagnosis in the family. Facilitated by a social worker, activities are designed to help the children express their feelings and offer tools to help them strengthen resilience factors.

Cancerreallysucks.org website - A website designed for teens where they can share their stories and discuss their feelings in a safe, and moderated, space.

Pages For Hope Resource Libraries - Area school districts' media centers are supplied with age-appropriate cancer-related books for children.

Gift of Education – A scholarship program for high school seniors impacted by cancer (themselves or an immediate family member).

Youth Advisory Board (YAB) - Our youth advisory board is comprised of high school students from area schools. Their focus is on developing our youth-related programs and events, along with cultivating a higher level of engagement in Gems from the adolescent community through volunteerism. The YAB group is also heavily involved with content creation for our Cancer Really Sucks website.
